Who we are
Thebaseballbash started with a simple complaint. Most baseball coverage tells you who won. Hardly any of it tells you whether the ballpark is worth getting to two hours early, which concession line moves fastest, where the kids can actually see batting practice, or how to survive a three-game Saturday at a youth tournament in August.
So that's what we write about. Baseball is more than nine innings. It's the drive to the park, the glove you bring just in case, the hot dog you always order, the scorecard, the road trip and the argument over the seventh-inning stretch. Sometimes it's even the game.
Big-league fans planning a ballpark trip. Minor-league regulars who know every between-innings promo by heart. College baseball families. Youth baseball parents in folding chairs and the volunteer coaches next to them. Card collectors, stat fans, fantasy players and anyone who grew up listening to a game on the radio in the car. We write with a soft spot for the Southeast, especially the Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach, but our coverage reaches every MLB market and plenty of small baseball towns.
Every story lives in one of six sections: MLB, minor league baseball, college baseball, youth baseball, tournament baseball and baseball families. Inside those you'll find ballpark guides, road trips, game-day food, tailgating, cards and memorabilia, team traditions, history, statistics, equipment and coaching basics.
